Al-Qaeda is likely to try again to use aircraft to attack the West, Whitehall officials have told the BBC.
Security correspondent Frank Gardner said they believed the airline bombot was part of al-Qaeda’s “obsession” with using commercial airliners.
The warning comes after three British men were convicted of conspiring to kill thousands of people on flights from London to North America.
Let’s face it America. If we’re gonna get nailed we’re gonna get nailed. As much as I’d like to think we’re prepared for things like this, we’re truly not. I was on a plane yesterday and it took about 16 seconds for me to get through. I flew home from Lake Tahoe to Dallas then to NYC. On my Tahoe flight there were 3 people randomly searched: myself, a dude with a turban, and some Asian woman. All of us were from New York. Surprise!
The guy with the Turban sounded more American than me, and the Asian girl didn’t exactly look suspicious. But hey, at least they were searching people. Nearly all my flights in the last year have come with no search and the people at the scanners had the attention spans of a pea.

These days, and in the history of time, all we can really do is get on a plane and hope for the best. I mean what are people really doing behind the scenes? I just hope this country is doing preventative things and monitoring all ex criminals (which I assume and think we’re doing but that’s probably naive). Personally I think once at the airport, there’s really not much we can do.
But at least stories like the one above give us some hope that America is trying. However, I’m not sure I like the phrase “Likely.” That’s kind of like saying “I mean we kind of know what’s going to happen and there’s not much we can do.” How about, “chances of a plane terror are increasing but America is taking all preventative measures to stop an attack?”
At least try to make me feel safe guys.
And for God’s sake, could these mug shots get any worse? I just ralphed up my egg sandwich at Assad Sarwar.
