U2′S 9/11 TRIBUTE

Posted by Mildly Relevantin U.S.A.

I decided to follow Rockefeller’s footsteps and post this video of U2’s tribute to the victims of 9/11 during the Super Bowl halftime show in 2002. The band slowly kicks into “Where The Streets Have No Name” as the names of the victims of the 9/11 attacks roll on a screen, as tremendous as the moment, behind them.

What I love about this video, besides the simplicity of the spectacle, is when Bono flashes the inside of his jacket, revealing the American flag. This display made me feel like the world was with us and still loved what it truly means to be an American.
